At Graceville Presbyterian Church we believe that the Christian life is meant to be a journey of growth as we are transformed by the Holy Spirit more and more each day to be like our Saviour, Jesus Christ.
However, God never intended our growth as Christians to be a solo project! We need the help of one another to encourage us in the Christian walk, and to give us the support we need to keep trusting Jesus through all the ups and downs of life.
That’s why we encourage all our members, where possible, to join a Growth Group. Growth Groups provide the opportunity to get together mid-week, with a smaller group of people, and to spend time studying the Bible, praying for one another, and enjoying each other’s company.
Currently we have the following 4 Growth Groups running, but there is always the possibility of starting more:
Tuesdays (Women), 7:30pm @ Heather Pieris
This ladies group is led by Heather Pieris for all ages and meets at Heather’s home in Graceville.
Wednesdays, 10:30am @ Ian Spence
This daytime group is for all ages and led by our Senior Pastor, Ian Spence.
Wednesdays (young adults), 7:00pm @ Rohan Pieris
This group is led by our Assistant Pastor, Rohan Pieris. It s specifically for young adults in the 18-40 age group and meets weekly at the church. We discuss the Bible, pray for one another and enjoy socialising together.
Thursdays, 7:30pm @ Ian Spence
This group is led by Ian Spence, our Senior Pastor. They meet at the church to talk about their week, pray for one another, discuss the Bible, and generally enjoy getting to know one another. From time to time, they also get together for dinner beforehand. This is an all-ages group, and some parents of small children take turns in attending.
Please speak to Heather, Rohan, or Ian if you’d like to be involved in a growth group. There is always the opportunity of additional groups starting up if these times do not suit.
