Graceville is a church in transition: through Ian’s leadership the buildings have been renovated, extra classrooms added and a new Assistant Pastor brought on board. It would be wonderful if we could employ a Youth Pastor!
Ian is a visionary and believes that GPC has tremendous opportunities to touch the lives of many people in this community. To achieve this we must learn the art of speaking the Gospel in ways that people can understand. He is a big picture man leaving the details to others to attend to, which does make for an interesting ride.
The church does not employ a handyman… we leave that up to Ian!
Assistant Pastor – Rohan Pieris
Rohan is passionate about pastoral ministry because he gets the amazing privilege of helping people come to know Jesus and connect what they believe about Him with the details of their lives. He first trusted in Jesus at a young age, but it was at university where Rohan really came to grasp the freedom that comes from having a secure identity in Christ, and was challenged to live wholeheartedly for Him.
Having previously spent all their lives in Sydney, the Pieris’ made the move to Brisbane in January 2015. They love the warmer weather this side of the Tweed, but we’re yet to convince them to cheer for Queensland in the Origin! In his spare time, you’ll find Rohan running and cycling around the streets of Graceville, watching cricket or West Wing, or sampling local culinary delights with Heather.
Christina is originally from Sydney with a Korean background. Her family are also involved in ministry, and they appreciate being part of both the Australian and Korean community. Prior to stepping into this role, Christina was a full time student doing theology. She still continues to work for the Presbyterian Church of Queensland, while doing administrative duties for GPC. She enjoys working in these two areas and feels it is a blessing to assist the team. For any questions about the church, please contact her: firstname.lastname@example.org
